Noel Llopis has released his slides from AGDC. He discusses how to get every bit of performance out of this little “Pocket PC” (hey, Steve Jobs called it that, so can I). Noel is the creator of Flower Garden and a guru with OpenGL ES and pushing the iPhone to its limits. This is a great read, and one of the primary talks I wanted to attend, although timing of the conference didn’t allow me to see it.

Now starting my trek down the OpenGL on the iPhone route. I have lots of OpenGL experience, but it still is a learning experience (refreshing my knowledge as it’s been awhile, best practices on iPhone and focusing on 2D). I’ve focused on creating a few basic “engine-lite” classes for managing Sprites and such. I’ve found 71 Squared’s video tutorials to be quite informative, although a bit on the lengthy side.

First impressions of developing the iPhone is it feels just like when I started jME. This phone is pretty powerful.
